An Australian software company,
built by practitioners.
We're the team behind xMS - a small, senior group that spent twenty years shipping enterprise applications before we set out to build the platform we kept wishing existed.
A track record, and a reason to build this.
Simon Driscoll and Jon-Paul Williams co-founded Kapish in 2007, building it into Australia's leading specialist in records and information management for government and regulated industries. By the time they sold the company to The Citadel Group (ASX:CGL) in 2016, Kapish had grown to 200+ enterprise clients across local, state, and federal government, defence, education, and health.
Across those 200 implementations, one pattern kept showing up: the people who understood the business best were the ones least able to shape the software they depended on. They'd explain their world to developers who didn't live in it, then wait months for something that was already out of date by the time it shipped.
Dinode exists to close that gap. xMS puts application development directly in the hands of the people who understand the problem - backed by AI, built on open-source infrastructure, and designed so your team can ship in days and adapt in minutes.
Twenty years in the trenches.
Kapish founded
Simon and Jon-Paul set out to do records and information management properly for Australian government and regulated industries.
Scaled to 200+ enterprise clients
Local, state, and federal government. Defence. Education. Health. Industry reputation for shipping what we quoted - a 100% implementation success rate across the decade, built on the delivery methodology Jon-Paul authored and refined across every one of those projects.
Acquired by The Citadel Group (ASX:CGL)
A good outcome, and the obligation to see it through. Simon and Jon-Paul stayed on for two years post-acquisition, integrating the business into Citadel's wider operation before stepping away to think about the next problem worth solving.
Dinode founded
Founded to tackle the class of applications every enterprise needs but no off-the-shelf product handles cleanly - industry workflows, client portals, compliance systems, the stuff that usually ends up in spreadsheets or ten-month custom builds.
First xMS production deployment
Honan Insurance's strata client portal goes live on xMS - 500+ clients, 33,000 properties, still running in production today.
Rebuilt for what was next
Rather than rush the next customer, we stepped back and used Honan's production signal to rebuild xMS from the ground up with AI at its core. Two years of platform investment, based on what we learned in production and what AI actually changed about how enterprise applications should be designed.
Back to market
The rebuilt xMS is ready. We're opening up to new customers, implementation partners, and the right people to grow with us.
Small, senior, hands-on.
A deliberately lean core team, extended by a trusted network of engineers, designers, and implementation specialists when projects call for it. The same senior people who scope your project are the ones building it - and still around in year three.
Simon Driscoll
Founder & CEO
Second-time founder. Co-founded Kapish in 2007, grew it to 200+ enterprise clients, and sold it to The Citadel Group (ASX:CGL) in 2016. Started Dinode after seeing the same pattern on a hundred implementations: the people closest to a business problem can't build the software that solves it. xMS is his attempt to change that. Equally comfortable deep in the code, shaping requirements with a client's ops team, or in the boardroom.
Jo Estephan
Head of Engineering
Engineering leader from the world of big-platform scale-ups. Led modernisation programs at Commonwealth Bank, shipped a new online experience for one of Australia's major super funds, and helped Zip Money launch into international markets. Brings that same rigour to xMS, where he owns the engineering vision, architecture, and delivery.
Jon-Paul Williams
Advisor
Co-founded Kapish alongside Simon in 2007. A technical business analyst at heart - his craft is turning messy business reality into clear requirements a team can build against. At Dinode, he works directly with clients to figure out what xMS should do for them, and how to get there.
Three rules of the road.
Built to last, not built to ship
When we saw what the next generation of xMS needed to be, we rebuilt rather than layer fixes onto v1. Honan's been in production since 2023; what you'll see today is the version we'd have wanted to ship then. We'd rather take the extra year than sell you something that'll need re-architecting in year two.
Senior people, end to end
No handoff from sales to a junior delivery team after the deal closes. The people who scope your project are the ones who'll build it, test it, and still be around in year three when you're evolving it. Enterprise clients pay for senior attention - we make sure they actually get it.
Experience over hype
Twenty years of enterprise deployments shaped xMS before the platform existed. We've seen what endures and what gets ripped out in year two - which features are actually worth building, and which are demo candy. Nothing on our platform is there by accident.
We're always open to good conversations.
Join us
Engineers, designers, solution architects, and people who've spent time in the trenches of enterprise software delivery - we'd love to hear from you, even if we don't have a specific role advertised. The team will grow; we'd rather meet people we want to work with than post job ads.
Partner with us
Implementation partners and resellers - especially teams with existing trust in government, insurance, or operations-heavy industries - we're actively interested in conversations, even though a formal program isn't in place yet. Come and talk; we'll shape something that makes sense for both of us.
